Building More Than
Homes
At L&M Custom Designs, we believe a builder's responsibility extends beyond the job site. We are committed to strengthening the communities where we live and work across Dallas Fort Worth.
"We have been incredibly blessed in this business, and giving back is not something we do on the side -- it's central to who we are. Dallas Fort Worth is our home, these are our neighbors, and we believe that when you lift up your community, everyone rises."
-- Sonja Mize, Owner & Partner
How We Give Back
From building homes for families in need to mentoring the next generation of builders, here is how L&M invests in our community.
Homes for Heroes
Serving those who serveWe proudly support Homes for Heroes, the program that gives back to the people who serve our communities -- firefighters, law enforcement, military, veterans, healthcare workers, EMS, and teachers. Heroes building or remodeling with L&M are honored with the same care and craftsmanship we bring to every custom project.

20+ students mentoredSonja is passionate about mentoring the next generation of builders. We partner with local high schools and trade programs to provide job shadowing, apprenticeships, and scholarship support. As a 3rd-generation builder, Sonja knows the value of passing on hands-on skills to young people.
North Texas Conservation
Eco-conscious building standardsWe are committed to sustainable building practices that protect the natural beauty of Dallas Fort Worth. We support local land conservation efforts, use sustainable materials when possible, and design homes that work with the landscape rather than against it.
Annual Community Build Day
6 annual events and countingEvery year, L&M organizes a community build day where our team, subcontractors, and local volunteers come together for a day of service. Past projects include playground construction, community center renovations, and park improvements throughout Tarrant County.
Disaster Recovery Support
Rapid response team readyWhen severe weather strikes our community, L&M is among the first to respond. We provide emergency repairs, tarping, and rebuilding services for families affected by storms and flooding. Our team mobilizes quickly because we know these are our neighbors and friends.
Rooted in Dallas Fort Worth
L&M Custom Designs is not a national franchise or corporate builder. We are a family-owned, locally operated company that has called Dallas Fort Worth home for over a decade.
Our subcontractors are local. Our suppliers are local. Our clients are our neighbors. When you hire L&M, you are investing in a company that reinvests every dollar back into this community.
Whether it's sponsoring a Little League team, providing free home repairs for a veteran, or mentoring a high school student interested in the trades -- we show up. Because that's what neighbors do.
